Music from the ‘art… “Kajra re”

Miniature paintings of Rajasthan often follow the theme of “Ragas”, the code
followed in Indian Classical Music. In recent times, this visual folk art is being
rendered through everyday objects (some on the video here, are ‘coasters’).

The classical music theme on my animoto video is from a
cheesy dance number “Kajra Re” choreographed for a popular Indian film.

Music credits: Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy; Film: Bunty aur Babli; Year: 2005
Lyrics: Gulzar; Singers: Shankar Mahadevan, Javed Ali, Alisha Chinai
Dance: Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan

  1. Hi ,

I was reading ur blog posts and found some of them to be wow.. u write well.. Why don’t you popularize it more.. ur posts on Indian music took my particular attention as it is an interesting topic of mine too 😉

BTW I help out some ex-IIMA guys who with another batch mate run rambhai.com where you can post links to your most loved blog-posts. Rambhai was the chaiwala at IIMA and it is a site where users can themselves share links to blog posts etc and other can find and vote on them. The best make it to the homepage!

This way you can reach out to rambhai readers some of whom could become your ardent fans.. who knows.. 🙂

    Cheers,
